Maharashtra caretaker held for theft at Saligao house

A caretaker from Satara-Maharastra has been arrested on charges of stealing cash and goods worth Rs 1.5 lakh from a house in Saligao which is owned by a man from Parel-Mumbai.

According to police, the accused, Bhushan Jitendra Jadhav (24) allegedly stole the ATM card of the house owner, Dillzan Wadia, and subsequently withdrew Rs 80,000 in eight different transactions.

The accused is also alleged to have stolen other items in the house, such as a mobile phone, Bluetooth speaker, a car key and other documents of the car.

Acting on a police complaint by Wadia, a Saligao police team led by PI Milind Bhuimbar and PSI Ulhas Khot swung in the action and nabbed the accused from a hotel room in Sawantwadda-Mandrem, from where he was planning to leave Goa. Police recovered all stolen articles and cash of Rs 77,500 from his possession.

ASI Anil Kerkar is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Milind Bhuimbar, DySP Gajanan Prabhudesai and North Goa SP Shobit Saxena.
