A Maharashtra native was arrested for sexually harassing a minor girl on Wednesday, Mapusa Police informed.
The accused Vijay Suresh Jadhav (19) who is presently residing in Guirim is a native of Sangli, Maharashtra.
According to police, the victim girl’s mother lodged a complaint stating that the accused was trying to establish contact with her minor daughter and intentionally sexually harassed her.
She further said that the accused tried to peep through a bathroom window while her daughter was having a bath.
Police registered an FIR under Sections 354, 354-C, 354-D of the IPC and Section 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act and Section 12 of the POCSO Act.
A team of Mapusa police after thorough human and technical surveillance successfully managed to arrest the accused from his residence.
Further Investigation is in progress under the supervision of PI Vijay Rane, Mapsua SDPO Jivba Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan (IPS).
