Major fire tragedy averted in Margao
MARGAO:Timely arrival of the personnel of the Margao Fire and Emergency Services saved a major tragedy after fire broke out in an office housed in the Goa Guest house building late Monday night.
Fire officer Gill De Souza said the fire brigade brought the fire under control within minutes, minimizing the damage to property to a few thousand rupees. He, however, said the fire, which originated on the mezzanine floor of the of establishment, was controlled in time.
“We averted a major tragedy by controlling the fire right on time. If the fire had to spread to the building, the old and dilapidated building would have been left damaged, which could have resulted into a major tragedy,” Gill said
