Major parts of South Goa to face power outage on Dec 15

Major parts of South Goa will go without power supply on December 15, from 7 am to 5 pm as the Electricity Department has planned a shutdown for replacement of existing ACSR with ACCC HTLS “Drake” conductor on the 220 KV PXR line at tapping point TL 220 to TL 225 & T1 220 to TL 01.

Superintending Engineer Rajeev Samant said the shutdown is required on both the 220 KV circuits Le 220 KV Ponda-Xeldem & 220 KV API Ambewadi feeding 220/110/33/11 KV Xeldem sub station.

He therefore said the shutdown will be availed for 220/110/33/11KV Xeldem sub station, 220/33KV Cancolim sub station alongwith their associated 33KV S/S, 220KV, 110KV and 33KV lines on December 15, from 7 am to 5 pm.

Areas affected would be entire talukas of Canacona, Sanguem and Quepem, part of Salcete, (Cuncolim, Cuncolim Industrial Estate, Velim, Balli, Fatorpa, Nessai, Carmona, Benaulim, Varca, Colva, and Navelim), besides, all 33KV & 110KV consumers at Verna Industrial Estate, part of Dharbandora taluka - village panchayat Kirlapal-Dabal, Shigao-Collem, Mollem and part of Ponda Taluka, village panchayat Panchawadi and Selaulim water works at Xelpem.
