Major transformation in Goa AAP soon: Ashutosh

Aam Admi Party (AAP) national executive member and Goa Desk in-charge Ashutosh on Thursday stated that the party is set to undergo a major transformation in the State very shortly.
Ashutosh was interacting with the media after welcoming new members into the party, in the presence of new AAP member and former bureaucrat Elvis Gomes at Canacona on Thursday.
When asked to specify the change, Ashutosh however declined to do so, saying, “I am bound by party discipline, but all will come to know very soon.” He, however, emphasised that the change would be Goa-specific.
Several people, including doctors, advocates and businessmen from Canacona, joined the AAP and Ashutosh along with Elvis Gomes distributed AAP caps to all the new members.
Ashutosh claimed that panic has set in the BJP and Congress after seeing the revolution being brought by AAP into politics across Goa.
“Just like the pre-2012 polls, Goa continues to be ruled by people having no concern for the common man. The BJP has become even more corrupt during this term than what it had projected the Congress during the 2012 polls,” he said.
Stating that he had seen governments come and go, Gomes said, “Experiments have remained as experiments, with no concrete action forthcoming from governments.”
“This inaction is now prompting common people like myself to come out openly to bring the change that our society needs. Many people were earlier questioning my move, but they themselves have now volunteered to join AAP and are coming out openly to bring about the change. It is time that each Goan steps out and comes forward in this direction.”
Stating that it would contest all 40 seats, AAP has so far announced 15 candidates, including Canacona, and the remaining candidates are expected to be announced by November.
Among those that joined AAP on Thursday are Dr Vilas Pawaskar, Dr Mayur Mahale, Dr Marian Correia, Caji Rebello, Kedar Joshi, Shrinivas Komarpant and Shankar Naik.
AAP central leader Dinesh Vaghela and AAP Goa spokesperson Sandesh Telekar were among the many AAP members from Canacona present at the event.
