The Mamlatdar and Executive Magistrate of Bardez, Anant Malik, on Thursday ordered the immediate sealing of Ms Royal Tomato, operating as Tomato’s Beachside Kitchen and Bar “ Kiki by the Sea, at Assagao, acting on directions from the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB).
In a memorandum issued on February 6, Malik directed the talathi of Assagao to seal the establishment located at Survey No 29/1, Badem, Assagao, and submit a compliance report along with a panchanama at the earliest.
Sources said the GSPCB’s directions followed regulatory action initiated against the unit for alleged non-compliance with pollution control norms.
The establishment had earlier been issued notices by the Board, and the latest order comes after the unit allegedly failed to comply with the stipulated conditions, prompting enforcement through the revenue authorities.
