MGP Ponda candidate Lavu Mamledar on Friday assured to set up an independent truck terminal for parking trucks at Curti-Ponda and beautify the open spaces by constructing joggers park, children park and facilities for cultural programmes.
He was speaking while releasing MGP's manifesto for Ponda constituency for the assembly election. GSM general secretary Adv Hridaynath Shirodkar, Ponda MGP Block president Anil Naik, Pradeep Naik, Ajay Bua, Uday Rane and other party workers were present.
Speaking further, Mamledar said issues like unemployment and job opportunities would be independently registered at the MLA's office and the unemployed youth will be given the jobs by keeping in contact with the businessmen in the vicinity.
“After getting elected, unique schemes like 'wall of kindness' will be implemented within three months and we will be in touch with social organisations, clubs, professional artistes to start the development of Ponda,” he said.
Mamledar showed the development plan of Ponda constituency for next five years in the manifesto. The manifesto highlighted on issues like laying of underground electricity cables, traffic control plan, modification of sports complex at Curti along with cricket ground, etc.
The manifesto also promised to renovate the power complex at Dipnagar-Ponda along with installation of 25 new transformers, while modern state-of-art garbage treatment plant will be set up in the city.
Some other highlights of the manifesto include Kabrastan for the Muslim community and construction of community hall at Curti, building of education complex, traffic surveillance in the city, construction of mini bridge, construction of footpaths, renovation of street lights, setting up a independent department of PWD to construct toilets in each needy household.
