Man booked for duping Margao resident of ₹42.5 lakh with fake housing offer

Margao police have registered an FIR for cheating against one person for inducing the complainant, Mahesh Borkar, resident of Pedda-Margao, to part with cash of Rs 42.50 lakh on the pretext of providing him with residential premises along with a plot.

A complaint lodged by Borkar stated that the incident occurred between March 2024 and July 2024 on various occasions at Margao. The accused person, having knowledge that he was likely to cause wrongful loss to the complainant, with dishonest intentions induced the complainant to part with cash of Rs 42,50,000 on the pretext of providing him with residential premises along with a plot, and further failed to provide the same, thereby cheating the complainant to the tune of Rs 42,50,000.

Registered FIR vide Margao Town Police Station Cr. No. 71 U/s 318 (3) of BNS 2023.
