According to Margao town police, the incident occurred way back in the year 2015 when the victim was a minor. While the girl has been sent for medical examination, the suspect has been booked under Sections 363 and Section 8 (2) of the Goa Children’s Act and under sections of POCSO Act, police informed.
Police further informed that the suspect has a criminal background and has been previously booked for his suspected involvement in crimes such as robbery, assault with an intention of causing hurt, etc.
Police said that the suspect allegedly lured the victim, then a minor, after having a clandestine affair with her and took her outside Goa. As the victim was missing, her father lodged a complaint of kidnapping against the suspect. Acring on the complaint so lodged, the police embarked on a search for the victim.
Meanwhile, the suspect took the girl to Mumbai and later escaped to Hyderabad after realising that cops were hot on his trail. Police said he camped in Hyderabad for around a year after which he changed his destinations, police informed, further claiming that the suspect lived under an assumed
name of Sayed and frequently changed jobs during periodic intervals.
