Porvorim police has arrested a married man from Socorro on charges of sexually assaulting and blackmailing a 17-year-old girl in Bardez.
According to police, the accused had befriended the girl about a year ago and had sexual relations with her. He kept the victim's photos on his mobile phone and later blackmailed her for sexual pleasure.
Fed up with the harassment, the girl informed her parents and they filed a complaint with the Porvorim police on Monday. The accused was arrested and on Tuesday, was remanded to six days in police custody. Porvorim police are conducting further investigations.
