According to Quepem PI Pravin Gauns, Atchut Gaonkar had an argument with his father, Vishnu, over property dispute on Saturday at about 9 pm, when the son allegedly shot his father.
“Vishnu’s wife Sushma lodged a complaint against her son Atchut. During investigation, it was learnt that the incident occurred over property dispute and a strained relationship between the father and son,” PI Gauns added.
PI Gauns said the accused, Atchut Gaonkar, was arrested on Sunday morning and he was remanded to police custody.
Police added that the injured Vishnu Gaonkar sustained minor injury to his chest and was undergoing medical treatment at Hospicio in Margao. Investigation is in progress under the supervision of Quepem DySP Sammy Tavares,” PI
