Acting on the complaint lodged by Shankar, the police claimed that the victim was allegedly kidnapped after the suspects lured him with an offer of some masonry work in Mapusa. Police said the victim was allegedly kidnapped and bundled into a vehicle and taken to an isolated place at Verna where the suspects snatched Rs 10,000 as well as an ATM card from him and later fled from the scene of the incident.
Maina-Curtorim police have registered an offence under Sections 363 and 394 of IPC. Further investigations are in progress.
