Mango tree falls on houses in Mapusa

A mango tree fell on two houses in Pershetwada Giri on Sunday morning, 25th May, causing damage of around Rs 2 lakh.

The tree fell on the houses of Luzinha Barretto and Feliciana Mendes, blocking the road and affecting traffic. Both houses were badly damaged, but luckily no one was hurt.

The Mapusa fire brigade reached the spot quickly, cut down the tree and cleared it.

In another incident, on Saturday, 24th May, a tree fell on the house of Anita Bandekar in Marad Sangolda. The estimated loss is about Rs 1 lakh. The Pilerne fire brigade cut and removed the fallen branches.
