In a sudden transfer order issued late Monday evening, Chief Officer of the Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC), Amitesh Shirvoikar has been transferred and posted as the Under Secretary of Goa Staff Selection Commission.
The order issued by the personnel department comes into effect with immediate effect.
The order also states that the Special Land Acquisition Officer (National Highway) Chandrakant Shetkar will continue to hold the additional charge as the chief officer of Mapusa (MMC).
It may be recalled Amitesh Shirvoikar had resumed duty as the full-time chief officer on Friday (September 22) after a break of almost four months. He was was reportedly on sick leave.
In the meanwhile, Shirvoikar was accorded a send off in a small function held in the chairperson’s cabin on Tuesday in the presence of Mapusa Chairperson, Priya Mishal, Vice-Chairperson, Virjaj Phadke and three other councillors and a few staff.
