A house at Karrasvaddo, Mapusa caught fire resulting in a loss of Rs 2 lakh on Sunday late evening. Mapusa fire personnel said they received a call at around 7 pm from a house at char-rasta, Karrasvaddo in Mapusa Municipal jurisdiction.
The fire personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control but the wooden roofing of the house were consumed by the flames. A fire officer informed that the fire started from one of the rooms of the house and gradually spread to other areas.
“It’s an old but large house with tiled roofing. We managed to save property of around 6 lakh,” a fire officer said.The cause of fire could not be established.
