The BJP in Mapusa got a booster dose with the induction of Chairman of Mapusa Merchants Association, Ashish Shirodkar and four other youth on Monday.
BJP State President, Sadanand Tanavde inducted Shirodkar and the others in the party in the presence of Mapusa MLA, Joshua D’Souza, Mapusa Mandal President, Sushant Harmalkar and senior BJP functionary, Rupesh Kamat.
“We have come together for the development of Mapusa. We need to strengthen the party and work to see that all our candidates win,” said Shirodkar, soon after his induction.
Ashish Shirodkar who was the State BJP Yuva president in the past had resigned in 2009 due to differences with the party leadership.
He had also contested on the NCP ticket against the BJP in Mapusa in 2012 but lost miserably to late Mapsua MLA Francisco D’Souza (Babush)
Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza said BJP will benefit tremendously from the leadership of Ashish Shirodkar and others.
“It’s very encouraging for us to have in our party hard-working leaders like Ashish. Mapusa will definitely benefit from his and the contribution of other youth who have joined us today,” D’Souza said.
