Mapusa youth dies after bike accident in Assagao

A 26-year-old man from Duler, Mapusa, succumbed to injuries sustained in a self-accident involving a motorcycle at Assagao, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Atmaram Bugde.

According to police, the accident occurred on December 28 near Villa Casa Mora at Assagao, when Bugde was travelling from Assagao towards Mapusa on a Harley Davidson motorcycle (GJ-06-F-7711).

Bugde was rushed to the Goa Medical College (GMC) and admitted for treatment.

However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in Ward 108 at GMC on December 29. Anjuna police registered an unnatural death case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Anjuna police have also registered a motor vehicle accident case in connection with the incident. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Nitesh Shingadi of Anjuna police station.
