The Fatorda police has registered a FIR against Shaikh Mohammed Shoheb for advertising through social media that the agency Portugal Direct Office is allegedly recruiting for foreign jobs and running illegal foreign recruitment business under the Immigration Act, without a licence.
The FIR was based on a complaint lodged by Avaneesh Shukla, Protector of Emigration, Bengaluru jurisdiction, Karnataka & Goa, to the effect that from September 30, 2025 to October 09, 2025 at the Portugal Direct Office, Borda Margao, the accused person namely Shaikh Mohammed Shoheb, a resident of Gogol-Fatorda, being the manager/ proprietor of ‘Portugal Direct’ having office situated at Borda-Margao, has been found advertising through social media that they are recruiting for foreign jobs and running illegal foreign recruitment business under the Immigration Act, without a licence and is defrauding innocent people.
A case under Section 10 & 24 of Emigration Act 1983 has been registered against the accused.
The Fatorda police has already sealed the Portugal Direct Office located at Borda-Margao upon the complaint lodged by the Protector of Emigration, Bengaluru on Friday.
