VALPOI
A teenager on the pillion died, while the rider was injured when their scooter and a mini-pickup collided with each other at Honda-Sattari on Saturday. The incident took place as Sainath Gawade (30) of Sonshi-Sattari was riding the scooter with Nagaraj Bandirwar (18) of Honda on the pillion. The mini-pickup was was proceeding from Honda towards Pissurlem, while the scooter was in the oncoming direction.
Bandirwar was seriously injured, while Gawade sustained minor injuries in the mishap. Both were moved to the Valpoi Community Health Centre, from where Bandirwar was referred to the GMC hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. Valpoi police conducted a panchnama at the accident site and after an autopsy, the body was handed over to relatives for final rites.
