A group of Margao citizens on Wednesday demanded that the Margao police initiate strong action against the person who made the video with a minor boy before making it viral. The citizens pointed out that the video was deliberately made viral in order to disturb the communal harmony and vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

Women’s and Child rights activist Auda Viegas has also alleged that the minor boy was also taught to say certain things with a motive to disturb the communal harmony. Addressing the media, Congress leader Savio Coutinho demanded that the Margao police should identify the culprit who made the video before making it viral. “It is very clear that the video was made to vitiate the communal harmony in the state. The boy was lured by the man to say certain things after giving him a lassi. It is fortunate that nothing has happened in the state. But, the Police should crack a whip against the person”, he demanded.

Coutinho further said that people have been demanding the minority commission to take up such matters given that the minor boy belong to a poor and downtrodden family with no support for defense.

Activist Andrew Sequeira told the media that the minor boy was told to say certain things on India and Pakistan with the sole agenda to disturb the peace and amity in Goa. “The Margao police should initiate strict action. The man should be booked under the relevant provision of the law as deterrence for others not to indulge in such act aimed at disturbing the communal harmony”, Andrew said.

Auda Viegas made a fervent plea to members of all communities not to do anything that would disturb the communal peace and harmony in the state.
