As a bright sunny weather triggered dust pollution on the city roads, workers engaged by the PWD, National Highway moved in to sweep the roads and give relief to the travelling public.
While the PWD had removed the potholed dotting the NH road passing through the city, especially around the Margao Municipal garden, the presence of black metal on the roads kicked up dust pollution, posing nuisance to the motorists as well as establishment owners.
To tide over the situation, workers were engaged to sweep the roads to remove the black metal and mud from the roads as a precautionary measure.
Sources said the exercise may turn out to be a temporary measure given that the road in question is damaged at several points around the MMC garden.
