Margao tense after comments against Prophet Muhammad

MARGAO

Tension rent the air at the Margao police station late Friday after a large number of Muslims staged a protest against the derogatory comments made against Prophet Muhammad on social media.

They demanded the immediate arrest of the miscreants involved in making the abusive comments against Prophet Muhammad.

Margao police station in charge PI Tulsidas Naik rushed to the police station after the huge group assembled at the entrance to the police station at around 10.30 pm demanding justice.

After giving them a patient hearing, PI Tulsidas told the protestors to give their complaint promising that the police would initiate action.

One of the protestors Kudbuddin Nadaf said the sentiments of the Muslim community have been hurt by the derogatory comments made against Prophet Muhammad.

“We demand the immediate arrest of the person involved in hurting our religious sentiments. We Muslims have never made any abusive comments against the Hindus and their Gods”, he said.

Nadaf warned that the protestors would return at the police station on Saturday if the culprit is not arrested immediately.
