Margao UHC ropes in NSS amid rise in dengue cases

MARGAO

Dengue and chikungunya cases have seen a rise in Margao, with Aquem-Malbhat-Pajifond being the most hit by the disease, with the Margao Urban Health Centre now roping in NSS students of city schools to spread awareness among the public.

Margao Urban Health Officer Dr Socorro Quadros called on households to help the health officials to keep mosquitoes at bay by ensuring there are no breeding sites inside their houses.

While saying that dengue and chikungunya have been detected in Aquem, Malbhat and Pajifond since July, Dr Quadros said the cases are now under control in these areas.

He, however, warned of complacency, more so in the light of the fact that breeding sites have been found inside the houses.
