The number of active Covid cases in the jurisdiction of Margao Urban Health Centre shows no signs of coming down with the figure touching 1221 on Saturday.
The active cases were put at 1166 on Friday, which means a spike of 55 cases. The area under the jurisdiction of Margao UHC has turned into a hot spot with cases rising by the day at an alarming rate. Officials pointed out that Covid has spread amongst families in the commercial capital, with sources saying the hectic campaigning for the Margao Municipal poll has further aggravated the situation. Already a candidate, who had contested the MMC polls, has tested positive, while a couple of candidates and their families have subjected themselves to Covid tests on Friday.
