The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), in collaboration with World Peace University, will honour renowned scientist Prof Dr Raghunath Mashelkar on Thursday.
GCCI President Pratima Dhond praised his pioneering work in technology and his dedicated service to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
“It is a proud moment for Goa to honour a son of the soil,” she said.
Dr Mashelkar, widely known as India’s “Patent Man”, will receive the Gomant Gaurav Sanman from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant during the ceremony.
The event will also include two technical sessions on knowledge, industry, sustainability, and the link between academia and industry.
It is expected to attract leading figures from business, academia, and government, highlighting Goa’s recognition of Mashelkar’s global contribution to science and innovation.
