CANACONA

The Matoli Bazaar for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi was opened at the KTC Complex in Chaudi, Canacona, on Sunday.

Newly inducted Cabinet Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar inaugurated the bazaar in the presence of CMC Chairperson Sara Shamba Naik Desai and other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Tawadkar urged locals selling Matoli items to make full use of the bazaar to sell wild Matoli collections as well as locally prepared festive sweets. He also appealed to families celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi to buy their Matoli and sweets from the bazaar.

CMC Chairperson Sara Naik Desai echoed this appeal, saying the bazaar provides all Matoli items under one roof.

Also present were CMC Vice Chairperson Gandesh Madgavkar, Chaudi ward councillor Ramakant Naik Gaunkar, councillors Hemant Kumar Naik Gaunkar, Amita Pagui and Laxuman Pagui, Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar, Shristhal Sarpanch Sejal Gaonkar, Khotigao Sarpanch Vrunda Velip, BJP Mandal president Prabhakar Gaonkar, Mandal general secretaries Divakar Pagui and Sanjiv Tilve, and former CMC president Vishal Desai, among others.
