Card holders of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) felicitated Mandur panch Lency Rodrigues for helping them get jobs under the scheme, which helped them to sustain their livelihood during Covid.
The felicitation programme was organised at Bal Gajanan Mandir, Mandur, on Monday which coincided with the birthday of Rodrigues.
Speaking at the felicitation, Riya Kavlekar highlighted how the workers benefited through the works undertaken by Rodrigues in his ward under the MGNREGA scheme.
“During Covid, it was difficult to find jobs and the money earned through MGNREGA helped to sustain our livelihood,” Kavlekar added, while thanking panch Rodrigues for implementation of the scheme.
Workers Deodita Lobo and Surekha Kavlekar also praised Rodrigues for his help.
Speaking on the occasion, Rodrigues thanked the RDA officials for their help in approving works in his ward and said he had been able to get works worth over Rs 11 lakh approved, of which Rs 6.1 lakh has already been disbursed.
“I would particularly like to thank Gram Sevika Sumedha Bhomkar for her help in doing the paper work,” Rodrigues added.
