A minor boy and girl from Vile Parle, Mumbai,who had left their respective houses without informing their family members,have been traced by the Colva police on Sunday night.
The duo, both aged around 17 years, weretravelling in a taxi when the Colva police, conducting late-night nakabandi,intercepted the vehicle, and found the two minors inside. The minors werebrought to the Colva Police Station for further enquiry, wherein the duodisclosed their identities.
During the enquiry, both minors stated thatthey had left their respective houses on the night of September 18 withoutinforming their family members. Further verification with Mumbai Policerevealed that the family member of the minor boy had reported him missing,pursuant to which Vile Parle Police Station, Mumbai, had registered a case underSection 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The Investigating Officer of the case wascontacted and informed about the tracing of both minors at Colva.
As both persons were minors, they were sent toSouth Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medical examination and assessment oftheir general physical condition. The duo were later lodged at Apna Ghar,Merces, for their care and protection pursuant to the directions issued by theChild Welfare Committee.
