The meeting held in Panaji was attended by Sudin Dhavalikar, Lavoo Mamledar and Ratnakant Mardolkar on behalf of MGP, while Subhash Velingkar, Ramdas Saraf, Anand Shirodkar and a few other office bearers attended on behalf of GSM.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, GSM President Anand Shirodkar said, “The meeting discussed various strategies to be adopted after the results are declared. However, if things work out as we expect and three and five of GSM candidates get elected and if eight to 14 candidates of MGP get elected, we will go ahead with a few independents and like-minded candidates and form the government and Sudin Dhavalikar would be the chief minister.”
However, if this does not work out for MGP-GSM, various other strategies to be adopted were also discussed.
“Many issues and queries came up during the discussion. Now we will go back to our people and take their opinion and viewpoints before taking a final decision. However, all these plans depend on the election results,” he said.
Meanwhile, after meeting with GSM, Dhavalikar also met most of his candidates to discuss issues with regard to counting day. He also advised them to be ready with applications seeking re-counting if in case any queries with regard to the counting arise.
