The Indian Naval float for the Carnival-2017 displayed one of the important roles of Indian Navy “Coastal Security and Anti-Piracy Operations” during the carnival parade at Vasco on Monday.
According to a Navy press release, the float consisted of a scaled down model of an Indian Naval Destroyer, INS Kolkata along with aircraft models and Naval Commandos providing security to the fishermen and ensuring safe trade through seas through anti-piracy operations, all along the vast Indian coastline along with their fire power.
The float also highlighted the importance of Naval Aviation providing reconnaissance, tracking and destroying the surface/aerial targets with its air power elements which also complemented the float.
A play depicting the theme of the float was performed by the Naval personnel, wherein Commandos of the Navy were seen rescuing fishermen from Pirates. The Naval float was conceptualised, designed and fabricated at the Naval Aircraft Yard (Goa) under the command of Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area.
