According to sources, the incident occurred at 6.30 am when bull owners from Assagao and Anjuna took their bulls for a fight at Socolwaddo-Assagao. During the fight, the bull belonging to the Anjuna owner sustained
severe injuries.
Sources further informed that the bull who was severely injured in the fight fell on the ground and later died on
the spot.
Hundreds of people who had gathered to witness the ‘dhirio’ were stunned as the fight was suspended. Later, bull was buried in an abandoned place, informed
sources.
Sources said some spectators had recorded the proceedings in their mobile phones, but the organisers threatened to delete the recorded clips.
When contacted, Anjuna PI Sanjay Dalvi said no such ‘dhirio’ was reported in the jurisdiction of Anjuna Police station.
Bull fights were banned in Goa in 1998.
