Former Minister Mickky Pacheco has lodged a complaint against the Revolutionary Goans, demanding an inquiry into the protest rally conducted by the organization from November 27-30.
Revolutionary Goans Chief Manoj Parab, however, dismissed Mickky’s complaint as trivial, saying it has no meaning when youth from the former MLA’s home village had conducted a meeting and have joined the padayatra.
“Mickky is alone now. Our youth had a meeting near his residence and have mobilized people for the padayatra,” Manoj asserted.
In his e-mail complaint lodged with the Director of Police, District Collectors and SPs, besides Goa Human Rights Commission, Mickky took exception to the presence of children at the padayatra taken out by the Revolutionary Goans, and demanded an inquiry.
He also pointed out that no permission was obtained by the organization to take out the padayatra from Patradevi to the Margao bus stand, claiming the public was caught in traffic jams.
Saying that the padayatra is being taken out in violation of section 144 imposed in South Goa, Mickky said most of the protesters were violating the pandemic norms by not wearing masks, nor were they maintaining social distance.
