Following the decision of the Supreme Court of India, the mining operations will be stopped after 15 March 2018; a step that will affect thousand of mining dependent families within the state.
This has resulted in heated protests at the Azad Maidan in Panaji today, where several mining dependent people gathered. The Ministers demanded the government to initiate legal mining within the state or else the truck owners, employees and many other associated with mining will take to the streets.
