Ponda MLA Ravi Naik, chairman Hemant Sawant, chairman of Goa State Co-operative Bank Ulhas Fal Desai, Pandurang Kurtikar and Vinayak Narvekar were present. r“In today’s era, we need to shift to technology and online services. These services should reach rural areas and only then we can become cashless. Work on it sincerely,” Dhavalikar urged. rHe said after the announcement of go cashless by the Prime Minister, most of the institutions started opting for it and hence cooperative sector should also work in the same direction. r“There are instances in this sector where some office bearers buy land for high rate and sell it at a low rate. Such things should not happen. It is misuse of public money. Hence, be vigilant in curbing fraudulent practices taking place in the cooperative sector,” he said. rRavi Naik said amendment of cooperative law should not be made considering gains of selective individuals. “There should not be politics in the sector. But unfortunately such politics is seen,” Naik said. r“Nation is not progressing because people don’t know why they are electing their representatives, and elected representatives don’t know why they are being elected. Hence, it is the duty of all to understand the system of democracy and work on those lines,” Naik said.
