A minor boy was allegedly kidnapped near the Municipal High School in Vasco at around 1.30 pm on Wednesday.
According to police, the complaint was lodged by the boy’s relative, who reported that some unknown persons abducted her minor nephew while he was under her legal guardianship near the school premises.
Based on the complaint, Vasco police have registered an offence under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act, 2003.
The investigation is being handled by PSI Nikhil Naik Dessai of Vasco Police Station, under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
Efforts are underway to trace the child. Police have appealed to the public to provide any information that may assist in locating the minor.
