A Colva police team has achieved a breakthrough in the minor girl kidnapping case after the police traced the minor girl from Benaulim at the Cansaulim beach.
The girl has since been handed over to their family members.
The Colva police have registered a FIR after receiving a complaint from the mother of the minor girl that her daughter has been kidnapped from her lawful guardianship and kept her secretly.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused person had called rickshaw on 25-01-2026 at 6.30 p.m. Accordingly said rickshaw driver came with rickshaw and dropped them at Colva beach as per their wish before they proceeded to the Utorda Beach to have food at a restaurant.
As part of the investigations, the Police Team was deputed at beaches at Colva, Benaulim, Vasco, Verna to trace the accused and to take custody of victim. The team was also directed to check the hotel and lodging as there was every possibility that they may stay in hotels/ lodgings.
During the course of investigation with the help of technical surveillance, accused person along with the victim girl were traced at Cansaulim Beach and brought to Colva Police Station and the minor victim girl was handed over to her family members.
Investigation in the case was conducted by PSI, Nikhil Khajnekar under the supervision of Colva Police station in-charge, PI Vikram Naik, SDPO Margao Sidhant Shirodkar and Superintendent of police, SP Tikam Singh Verma.
