MARGAO
In a major burglary in the heart of the commercial capital, unknown miscreants barged into the Ganga Metal Mart and decamped with goods and cash all valued around Rs 5 lakh.

The police have registered a case against unknown persons, but have estimated the value of the stolen goods to Rs 1.90 lakh.

The incident came to light when the proprietor came to open the shop on Saturday morning, only to find the shop half open.

The worst fears of the owners and the employees came true when they found the goods, including steel and bronze items missing from the premises.

The miscreants are believed to have used a jack to bend the shutter to effect entry into the establishment.
