Missing Calangute girl found in West Bengal

MAPUSA

Calangute police traced a 16-year-old girl in West Bengal after she went missing from Calangute.

The girl was brought back to Goa, while police are on the lookout for a youth from West Bengal who is accused of abducting her.

According to reports, the girl went missing in the first week of September. Acting on a complaint from her parents, Calangute police launched a search 

operation.

During the investigation, police learnt that the girl was in West Bengal. A police team led by Police Sub-Inspector Dinesh Kanolkar was sent to the state.

With the assistance of local police, the team located the girl and brought her back to Goa.

Police have recorded her statement and further investigation is underway under the supervision of Police Inspector Lakshi Amonkar and the guidance of DySP Vishwesh Karpe and North Goa SP Harishchandra Madkaikar.
