CANACONA
A 49-year-old man who went missing on Tuesday was found dead in a drain near the Deputy Collectorate office at Chaudi“Canacona on Wednesday morning.
Canacona police received information about a body lying in the drain and retrieved the body with the assistance of the Canacona Fire and Emergency Services (FES) staff. A doctor on duty at the Canacona CHC confirmed that the person had been dead.
During enquiry, police found out that the deceased was Yadu alias Damu Gavde, a native of Uttar Kannada in Karnataka who was employed with a soft drinks distributor at Chaudi.
He had been reported missing from his rented room behind the CHC Hospital, Chaudi since 1 am on February 18.
Canacona police sent the body to the South Goa District Hospital for further medicolegal formalities. Police has registered a case of unnatural death and PSI Babu Dessai is conducting investigations.
