Margao Municipal Administrator Srinet Kothwale has said there is scope to improve the functioning of the gasification plant at Sonsodo to enhance its efficiency and achieve the desired results.
Kothwale, a former Member Secretary of the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB), made the remarks after inspecting the plant along with directors of Pune-based G D Environmental Pvt. Ltd., the company operating the facility. “The company's directors have explained the reasons why the waste fed into the gasification plant is not being burnt completely. However, I believe there is room for improvement to ensure the plant operates at its optimum efficiency. We will work with the company to implement certain measures to improve the plant's performance,” Kothwale said.
