Margao Municipal Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes cleared the salaries and wages of Municipal employees and daily wage workers on the eve of Diwali festival.
The Chief Officer said the efforts of MMC helped collect Rs 2 crore plus revenue, paving the way for the payment of salaries and wages. “Salary of regular staff was released on November 1 and today we have released the Wages so that entire work force enjoy their Diwali,” Agnelo said.
He appreciated the efforts of his staff and has decided that drives will continue after Diwali.
He had requested the public to come forward and clear their dues.
Wages of contract/ daily wagers were released today on the eve of Diwali, he added.
The CO wishes one and all a very Happy Diwali and thanked the MMC staff and citizens of Margao for their cooperation.
