The Margao Municipal Council is toying with the idea of setting up a Thermocol waste disposal facility to tackle the thermocol menace.
A demonstration was arranged at the Margao Municipal Council for the benefit of the City Fathers on Friday.
Margao Municipal chief Damodar Shirodkar said the civic body is exploring the possibility of setting up the thermocol waste disposal facility.
“We have not taken any decision yet on the proposal, but we are examining the proposal,” Shirodkar said.
Chairperson Shirodkar pointed out that if the civic body sets up this project, it is possible to take the ready-made solution and process the thermocol waste from other municipalities or panchayat areas. “This can generate revenue for the municipality,” Shirodkar pointed out while speaking to the media.
