A Margao Municipal-owned garbage compactor was stranded on the road at Aquem on Sunday morning emanating foul odour in the vicinity.
As the leachate started spilling on the road after the vehicle reportedly broke down, the entire area was enveloped by four odour.
Locals pointed out that the stretch of the road where the garbage compactor was stranded turned slippery due to the leachate flow.
After the vehicle reportedly broke down, the driver sent a message to the Municipal officials to send the mechanic and engineer to rectify the fault.
