“Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives his 'mann ki baat' on radio, but is not willing to listen to people’s 'mann ki baat',” the scion of the Gandhi-Nehru family said.
He said he and his sister, Priyanka Gandhi, always wondered why BJP people were full of anger and spite.
“They think they know everything and have answers to every problem in the country. But when things don’t go their way, they get angry,” he said.
He said tourists come to Goa because of their peaceful and accommodating nature.
“People in Goa do not get angry. Goa’s spirit does not have anger... and that is why people from all over the world come to Goa because people here are peaceful,” he said.
Stating that demonetisation had crippled the economy and hurt the poor people the most in the country, he said it was the decision of one man that brought people to queue up and over 100 lost their lives.

Initially, when at the scheduled meeting time at around 3.45 pm more than half the seats were empty and the trend continued for some time. But after almost 45 minutes there was a huge surge and the ground was swarmed with Congress supporters.

GPCC chief Luizinho Faleiro in his brief welcome address blasted the BJP leaders for being masters of U-turns. He said the party made tall promises which turned out to be full of lies.
Reminding the BJP’s favourite punch line “sab ke sath, sab ka vikas,” Faleiro said the BJP turned Goa into “sab ke sath, sab ka satyanash,”
He eulogized the contribution of Gandhi family by providing separate statehood and language in the State.

Former chief minister Digambar Kamat lambasted the BJP for stating that it will provide jobs only to minimum SSC pass contenders.
“Who are SSC failed students? Only children of the poor. This BJP-led government is doing grave injustice to poor and marginalized section of the society and have no right to come to power,” Kamat said to resounding applause.
