A host of national leaders of political parties are bracing up to descend on the Goa’s electoral battle in support of their respective party candidates contesting the April 23 Lok Sabha poll and bypolls for the three Assembly seats.

If Prime Minister Narendra Modi will descend in Goa on April 12 to address party workers around Panaji, Aam Aadmi Party National convenor and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has confirmed his visit to Goa in support of the party candidates, including state Convenor Elvis Gomes.

So far, it is not clear whether Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi will come down to Goa to give a boost to the party’s campaign for the two Lok Sabha seats at stake, even though many within the party said the two leaders may not visit the state for campaigning.

BJP state president Vinay Tendulkar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the party

campaign in Goa with a massive rally around Panjim on April 12 at 11 am. Besides the Prime Minister, a galaxy of BJP top leaders, including Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister Smriti Irian all expected to descend in Goa to drum up support for the party candidates.

AAP State coordinator, Elvis Gomes, who is expected to file his nomination for the South Goa seat

on Monday, said Arvind Kejriwal has confirmed his visit to the Goa for campaigning. “I am not aware how many other leaders would visit the state for campaigning, but Kejrival has confirmed his visit”, he said.

As far as the Congress party is concerned, the local office bearers have still not received any list from the party leadership in Delhi over the leaders who are expected to join the party’s campaign in the state. In fact, sources said that both Rahul Gandhi, who had a huge meeting with the party workers in the State sometime back, and Priyanka Gandhi may not come down for the election campaign. “Nothing is final so far. We are awaiting the communique from the party leadership in Delhi. If not Rahul and Priyanka, many other leaders will certainly come down to Goa in support of the candidates’, a senior district Congress leader told The Goan.
