As the fast satyagraha of the heritage lovers entered the second day at Old Goa on Thursday, the organiser has informed that many people have expressed their wish to participate in the protest.
“As of now, we are yet to make proper arrangements and we have advised them not to participate. But from Saturday, we will allow more participants to take part in the fast,” said Glen Cabral.
Heritage lovers have started the fast satyagraha from Wednesday in protest against the government inaction against the structure which has come up within heritage precincts of St Cajetan church.
He further informed that heritage lovers and devotees from other parts of Goa are also planning to organise fast satyagraha in their respective villages.
“The heritage lovers and devotees from different parts of Goa have informed us that they are planning to organise fast satyagraha in the villages in a bid to exert more pressure on the government, which is yet to heed to our demands,” Cabral informed.
Meanwhile, a tent has been put up for the benefit of the participants taking part in the fast satyagraha so that they could get shelter from the sun and the unseasonal rain.
“From tomorrow, an extended roof will also be put up to facilitate more participation,” Cabral told The Goan and informed that banners highlighting the issue will also be displayed.
