The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has kept the case related to the Morjim beach club Bastian Riviera for final orders on December 26. The authority had issued a demolition order to the club in September.

Carrick Bend Realty LLP, which operates the club, has filed a review petition before the GCZMA. The firm claimed that it was not given any notice before the authority directed the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) to carry out a fresh demolition, which it said was against the principles of natural justice.

The matter was heard on Wednesday following directions from the High Court of Bombay at Goa. During the hearing, the complainant asked the authority to seal the club, stating that it is running commercial activities and has announced Christmas and New Year music events and VIP parties. Advocate Sherwyn Correira, appearing for complainant Mayur Shetgaonkar, said both sides argued the case in detail.

He added that the GCZMA has kept the matter for orders on December 26 but did not pass any order on the plea to seal the club.

On Tuesday, a Division Bench of Justice Sarang Kotwal and Justice Ashish Chavan directed the GCZMA to decide the review application by December 26. Earlier, at its meeting on July 10, 2025, the GCZMA had ordered the demolition of eight unauthorised structures at the Morjim site and later issued a formal directive to the Bardez Deputy Collector to carry out the demolition.
