Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh will be conferred with the Prestigious President’s Medal during the State Independence Day celebrations in the capital city.
Shaikh will be presented with the President’s Medal by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the presence of Goa DGP Jaspal Singh, chief secretary and other dignitaries for his distinguished service and valuable contribution to the police force.
Shaikh who is a man of few words and calm in nature had been awarded the CM’s Gold Medal in 2017.
Shaikh has been in the police force for 31 years and began his career as a PSI attached to Panaji Police station in 1991. He has been attached to various police stations including Panaji, Mapusa, Vasco, Agassaim, Quepem and Calangute, besides also serving in the Traffic Cells, ATS and ANC departments.
Shaikh has been very instrumental in detecting various crimes during his service in the police department.
