Mormugao Port goes live with major digital upgrade

In a landmark move towards digital transformation, Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) declared the “Go-Live” of its upgraded SAP S/4 HANA ERP system on Sunday.

This marked the successful completion of its migration from SAP ECC 6.0 SOH to Rise with SAP S/4 HANA Private Cloud Edition. The implementation was executed by M/s Highbar Technocrat Pvt. Ltd.

MPA had earlier created history by becoming the first major port in India to implement SAP ERP ECC 6.0 in December 2009. With this latest upgrade, MPA continues to lead the way in adopting cutting-edge technology in the Indian port sector.

The “Go-Live” function was chaired by MPA Chairperson N Vinod Kumar in the presence of MPA Deputy Chairperson Vinayaka Rao, department heads, senior officers, the in-house IT team, and the Highbar Technocrat team.

Anant Chodnekar, Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer of Deendayal Port, who holds additional charge as FA & CAO at MPA, officially declared the system live.

Addressing the gathering, Vinod Kumar congratulated the IT team, ERP users, and the implementation partner for ensuring a smooth and timely upgrade.

He encouraged all users to fully explore the new system’s functionalities and leverage its capabilities for enhancing operational efficiency.

Vinayaka Rao and Yogesh Mhadolkar, Project Leader from Highbar Technocrat, also addressed the event, highlighting the scope and benefits of the SAP S/4 HANA system.

Navisha Miranda, Assistant Director (IT), and Prasad Nayak, IT Consultant at MPA, shared insights from the port’s digital transformation journey and spoke about the strategic efforts involved in executing the upgrade.

The successful implementation of SAP S/4 HANA positions MPA as a frontrunner in enterprise-level digital solutions among Indian ports, aimed at driving operational excellence and better service delivery.
