He was addressing the fishermen community during the annual Naralli Poornima, observed by the fishermen community on Canacona shore.
Speaking further, Sawaikar said the navigational part to enter Talpona fishing jetty would be suitably dredged and difficulties faced by trawlers to enter the jetty will be minimized.
"While our governments in the State as well as at Centre are doing all the required things for the fishermen community, we will nevertheless find wanting to attend to necessities of the community to assist in their profession," he said. This year, the rituals conducted by Pujari Mangaldas Pagi were organised at Agonda beach, where a coconut was released into Arabian Sea praying for a fruitful fishing season ahead.
Akhil Goa Kshatriya Pagui Samaj president Suraj Pagi led the fishermen community, mostly consisting of coastal areas from Betul to Polem along with special invitees. Parvem, Salleri Khol and Betul were also present.
